I am currently working on a series of sculptures called Lichtzoekers. They are life-size, rusted representations of people installed on facades in the city center. Each figure appears to be climbing upward in search of light and sight, often caught in difficult or uncomfortable positions.
This project expresses my fear of falling into the grey. It’s about a longing for wonder. Dreaming of what lies in the distance, on the other side of that high wall. It's dreaming of a wondrous horizon, knowing that place might not truly exist.
