Terms and conditions

Are you a visual artist, do you have a studio and you want to participate? Is Atelier in beeld what you’re looking for? Read our terms and conditions below.

Why participate?

  • Atelier in beeld is the perfect moment to show your visual work to the general public.
  • Together with over 2000 other artists you can show the audience what’s going on in the world of visual arts in Flanders and Brussels.
  • You'll benefit from the nationwide promotional campaign (advertisements, press) that will be run in the build-up to the weekend.
  • We'll assist you with hints and tips to invite the public yourself. We'll provide you with printed promo material such as signposts, posters, invitation cards and digital promo material: invitations, e-flyers, facebook banners, instagram posts.
  • You'll receive an artist page on atelierinbeeld.be, where you can display your work. Visitors can find your studio by searching for a postcode, a technique or a name. Your studio will also appear on the map.
  • How you want to plan your Atelier in beeld is flexible: will you be open for one or two days? The choice is yours. Not all studios open for two days.
  • Do you want to give a demonstration? Or do you prefer to keep a low profile? It's all possible.
  • Participating in Atelier in beeld is free of charge.

Studio?

The studio is the place where visual work is made. Visitors can witness where and how the work is created. It is a workplace where you can see traces of the creating process: brushes and daubs of paint, sharpened pencils and pencil shavings, looms and yarn, scraps of clay and a potter’s wheel, a printing press and ink stains…

Some artists work in a large shed, a separate room in the house, an empty building, on the street or simply at the kitchen table. Anything is possible, as long as it is your permanent workspace. So setting up an exhibition in a separate room or a space (which is not your workspace) only for this event is not allowed.

When?

Your studio will be open to the public free of charge on 4 and/or 5 May 2024, from 11am to 6pm.

You can choose to participate for one or two days. During the day(s) you have chosen, you will be present in your studio to receive visitors.

Do you share a studio with other artists and would you like to participate together? Then it is important that  all participate on the same day(s). This way, visitors can discover all the artists in your group studio. Nothing better than a group studio buzzing with activity.
