Ana Lucía Negri (Lima, 1985) explores photography as a sensitive language between technique and material. Her work includes analog photography, darkroom processes, and interventions on found objects. Manual processes related to technical apparatuses or chemical reactions open up a space for discovering the very material of the work and the connotation of images.
She considers that photography, through its iconic nature and legitimacy in relation to reality, has the ability to evoke sensory experiences by appealing to the viewer’s memory and lived experience. Contemplating an image thus becomes a starting point for a process of inquiry within one’s own body.
