Kaat Lens (BE, 2000°) studied Fine Arts - Painting at LUCA School of Arts Ghent, she lives and works in Brussels.

The paintings of Kaat Lens are composed of acrylic and oil paint on canvas. Each work forms a reaction to the previous painting, a process that characterizes Kaat Lens's approach as a visual artist. With a strong sense of impulsivity, she transforms her daily observations into new, detailed paintings. Often described as a magpie, she curates and reinterprets the shiny boots and striking pearl necklaces she notices while observing people in the city, incorporating these elements into her own visual language.
Her paintings, almost fairytale-like in nature, offer a form of escapism. Here, we escape from everyday life into rich visual scenes, which can only be expanded upon through the eyes and imagination of the viewer.
