As part of Atelier in beeld, Off-Centre invites you to join a guided walk through the studios of the MAST collective (Molenbeek Artists Stronger Together). This initiative, launched by Anna Agoston, aims to highlight the diversity and quality of artistic talent in Molenbeek.
MAST responds to the complexities of the contemporary art world by bringing artists together in a network where creativity grows from passion, dedication, and openness. During the walk, participants will visit several studios of MAST artists in the Molenbeek area.
The tour is free, but registration is required via this link.
Practical information: the walk will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, in the Molenbeek area (exact starting point will be shared after registration). Participants will receive a confirmation email with practical details shortly before the date. For questions, you can contact us at offcentre123@gmail.com or send us a DM on Instagram (@offf.centre). The language of the tour will be English.
We start at the studio of Anna Agoston (@annaagostonart), who will give a short introduction to the initiative and its vision. Her wall installations of black-and-white macro photographs of forms create a sense of unity by fostering a deeper connection with nature.
From there, the tour continues to the studio of Saher Sahand. Sahand’s practice explores the human condition in an era shaped by technology and information. Working across both digital and traditional media, he examines how connectivity reshapes our perception and sense of presence, revealing the tensions between the tangible and the virtual.
The tour then continues to the studio of Aurélie Prestigiacomo: “My work is part of a contemporary figurative practice where color becomes a form of resistance to often invisible constraints. Through female figures and simple forms, inspired by a post-naive visual language, I explore the tension between apparent innocence and the forces that shape bodies and lives.”
We conclude with a visit to Zonnelied vzw, where you will have the opportunity to discover their artistic practices up close and engage directly with the artists. De Loods is the new inclusive art workspace of Zonnelied vzw, where artists with and without disabilities collaborate. Various artistic projects in dance, theatre, and visual arts find a place here. During Atelier in Beeld, the work of Zonnelied artists takes centre stage. Come and get acquainted with the visual language of a wide range of artists from the Zonnelied collection, such as Gregory Hault, Marcel Braxhoofden, Christian Heyvaert, and others.
We close the tour with a drink and an informal exchange exploring the notions of emergence and established position within the artistic ecosystem.
